Arizona National Parks And Recreation Areas That Make Great Recreational Vehicle Hotspots

Great RV travel can be had throughout the state of Arizona. The weather is a big draw for visitors; mild winters. The large number of National Parks and Recreation Areas provide a wide number of popular spots for RV travelers. Since July is National Parks and Recreation month Pedata RV Center is offering a list of top spots that RVers appreciate in Arizona.

AZ National Parks and Recreation Areas Great for RVers:

1. The Grand Canyon: everyone has heard of the Grand Canyon. It's not only a popular destination for those visiting Arizona, but it's a popular destination for those visiting from out of the country. It's an ultimate travel destination; one of the wonders of the world. It's found north of Flagstaff in Arizona. It's a mile deep and 18 miles wide in some places.

2. Glen Canyon National Rec. Area: This rec area offers over 1.2 million acres of back country and water based recreational activities. The area runs from Arizona (Lees Ferry) to Southern Utah (Orange Cliffs). It is known for its presentation of geologic wonders and gorgeous vistas.

3. Lake Mead Nat. Rec. Area: This is a year round hot spot. Boaters, swimmers, fishermen, hikers, sightseers, photographers and more appreciate this area. Many enjoy experiencing the native plant life and animal life in the natural environment.

4. Petrified Forest Nat. Park: This is one of the world's largest collections of petrified wood. It's also one of the most colorful. Views of the Painted Desert, native plant life, fossils (some over 200 million years old), historic structures and archeological sites all appeal to visitors on different levels.

5. Saguaro National Park: Known for its enormous cacti dotting the horizon and the amazing views of the Arizona sunset this park area is the perfect place for travelers to experience the iconic giant saguaro, symbol of the American West. Even though they are a symbol of the West they are actually only native to a very small region. Impressive saguaro forests are protected within the park.

Many more national monuments, historic trails and historic parks are embedded throughout the Arizona landscape. Many make popular and exciting RV destinations. And the parks and rec areas in Arizona tend to offer a wide variety of entertainment through outdoor recreational opportunities. RVers love it!
