National Parks And Recreation Areas In California: Recreational Vehicles Love Them

California is definitely a must see state/region. And it's for many reasons. It is a particularly popular experience when it comes to recreational vehicle traveling...the world famous road trip. The state offers such a terrific combination of regional elements, activities and weather conditions that it draws a continuous crowd of visitors and would be residents; many of which are "re-visitors". Pedata RV Center offers a list of RV hotspots in celebration of National Parks and Recreational Areas Month.

Top National Park and Recreation Area Hotspots In the California area:

1. Channel Islands National Park: It's close to the mainland, but offers a "break" at the same time. 5 islands are included in the designated park area. The surrounding ocean environment is also included. The park boundaries protect a wide variety of natural and cultural resources native to the area. Some are unique to the Channel Islands area. This national park represents coastal Southern California the way it should be; preserved in all its natural beauty.

2. Death Valley National Park: This park is all about extremes: heat and cold, extreme lows and it's also extremely dry. It's a desert area filled with sand dunes, multi-colored rock layers, snow-capped mountains, natural springs and 3 million acres of sheer wilderness. This national park is home to the Timbisha Shoshone people.

3. Golden Gate National Recreation Area: This area is a wonderful representation of 2 centuries of history (Native American culture, Spanish Empire frontier, Mexican Republic, maritime history, California Gold Rush, American coastal fortifications evolution and the evolution of San Francisco).

4. Joshua Tree National Park: many think they've seen it all when they view this park area roadside, but they haven't seen anything unless they actually enter the park. It offers unique presentations of native animal and plant life in an area of extreme weather based around strong winds and unpredictable downpours.

5. Lassen Volcanic National Park: Witness fumaroles hissing and mud pots boiling at this park. Visitors are allowed to get up close and personal with natural combinations of destruction and creation.

RV travelers often think of the ocean and theme parks when they think of California. But once they are well versed in the area they know that there is much more to include when recognizing the region as a favorite spot for recreational vehicle travel. The above is only a partial list of the National Parks and Recreational Areas that provide beauty, protection, and educational opportunities to the area. Visitors are able to feel a stronger connection to the area as they experience these special areas that were chosen for their ability to represent the best of the region.
