Where And When Is The Best Time For A Vacation

When you are planning your vacation you should try to choose a destination that is a little different from where you conduct your everyday life activities. For instance, if you live in an area that has year round warm temperatures, then you will want to consider traveling to a climate that is cooler and vise versa.

Those of us that live at the higher elevations might want to take a trip down to the coast, maybe the Outer Banks of North and South Carolina. These are beautiful places to visit on vacation. The secret is to know a local, someone that lives around the destination so that you can get some of the inside scoop of the best places to go and the places best to avoid. Nobody wants to get stuck in the tourist trap areas of a vacation destination. It can almost ruin an entire trip.

There are, however, certain areas that are difficult to avoid all the touristy things. For example, if you are planning on visiting the Orlando area you will find it had to avoid anything tourist, as this area is home to the numerous Disney amusement parks. The only upside to this is that if you are there to visit Disney, you will enjoy all these touristy attractions and shops, as Disney is know to work hard at making their guest feel comfortable and "at home". In fact when you are staying in a Disney accommodation they will give you the key to your room and say "Welcome Home" as you head to your room or suite.

The perfect destination in the winter months might be different than in the summer months. There are new places to explore, whole new themes to discover. Theme parks are great, especially in Florida and other warm destinations. For whatever reason most people assume that you have to go to a theme park during the absolute hottest months of the summer.

I prefer to go during the off times of the winter months. Even if by some off chance that you do get some colder weather, it is most likely not going to be nearly as cold as your home state. Furthermore, if it is unseasonably cold, the locals can't handle anything under seventy degrees and you will have the whole place to yourself. Lines will be much shorter and the crowds will be much smaller to deal with.
