As you know, Benidorm, on the Costa Blanca, is about 45 km northeast of Alicante and its airport. Most people arrive via Alicante. For there, you can take a bus or a train into the city. There are regularly scheduled trips from the airport and around the city so it is easy to get around as long as you get a schedule from the tourist bureau.
Your best bet, however, is to rent a car. There are at least 20 car rental companies here, so you are sure to get the vehicle you need. Renting a car allows you to visit places independently of train and bus schedules. You can also more easily visit surrounding areas in Spain, if you wish. However, if you are watching your budget, traveling by train or by bus may be significantly less expensive. If you have time, take the Lemon Express train along the coast of Spain. This 30-mile excursion offers lovely views.
Once you are in town, you won't have any trouble finding accommodations. There are more than 35,000 hotel beds here. You can get a hotel room or suite or rent an apartment, a house or even a villa. Be sure to book your reservation well in advance to make sure you get the accommodations you need at the best price, especially in summer.
Once you are in town and settled in your room, you will have a lot of options on your holidays to Benidorm. You can relax at one of the city's three beaches. Playa de Poniente is generally used by families and by senior citizens. The Playa Mai Pas is smaller and is very nice as well. For the more adventurous, there is the Playa de Levante, which is a more secluded topless beach. Of course, singles and young adults are more likely than others to go there.
Once you've soaked up the sun, you may wonder what else there is to do. The answer is plenty. The city square and the beach prohibit motor vehicles so it is very pleasant to go on a walking tour. Families will enjoy the theme park and the water park, which draw people from throughout Europe. Golfers will appreciate the many courses throughout the city. There are many museums and cultural events everyone will enjoy. Once the sun sets, there is plenty of nightlife to discover, including nightclubs, restaurants and theaters.
