Australia is one of the worlds most beautiful countries with huge variations in its natural landscapes. Right down the centre you will encounter one of the driest and most arid landscapes on earth, along the south coast you will find green woodland and even snowy mountains at the right time of year, and along the eastern coast you will see luscious green rainforests, pristine beaches and tropical islands dotted all along the coast. At the top of the east coast sits Cairns, a city famed for giving any traveler access to one of the worlds most amazing natural wonders - the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is one of the hippest and laid back places in Australia and offers so much to any visitor. With an amazing climate that offers all year sunshine and warmth you will rarely find more than a day or two of cloud and rain in a row. Due to this climate you will be able to visit some of Australia's most magnificent landscapes. To the east you will find tropical rainforests, whilst to the west you will find the pristine beaches and gorgeous islands offshore.

Of course, one major attraction that the city offers is the Great Barrier Reef. Due to its close proximity you will be able to take a tour boat out and explore some of the magnificent islands and engage in some of the worlds best diving and snorkeling. With over 2000 species of fish and countless coral gardens you will not be disappointed.

The Daintree World Heritage Rainforest is also one of the city's main draws. There are several ways how you can see this and one of the best is to go up into the skyrail and see it all from above. You will be afforded wonderful views over the city, the beaches, the reef, as well as countless other sights such as the magnificent Barron falls.

For any thrill seeker, Cairns is also famed for its amazing skydiving. You will be able to go up as high as 14,000 feet into the sunny sky and launch out of a plane with views of the stunning coastline. You will be able to see all the way along much of the Barrier Reef and take in view of all the beautiful forests and beaches as you descend.

Of course, if you are a little too old for a skydive or just feel that you'd rather not jump out of a plane today then you can always stay in one. Cairns also offers some great scenic flights that allow you to see all of the beautiful sights and take all the pictures in the world whilst doing so.

The vibe of the city is generally very chilled out and as such there is a great night life there. Travelers will be able to relax at one of hundreds of bars and clubs dotted around when the lights go down and the music goes up.

It really doesn't matter who you are or what your interests are, there will always be something to entertain you in this spectacular city.
