Yes, Christmas comes but once a year. When it comes, surprisingly, it tends to catch people off-guard. It's not like we didn't know it was coming. To be sure, even before you cut the Thanksgiving turkey you're inundated with Christmas advertising. So, though Christmas has come and gone, now is the time to invest in Christmas cards.

This is not a new idea. It's the old tried and true notion that you stock up on holiday cards and gifts early -- very early. In fact, January is the month of choice for ardent stockers. This is the time when Christmas cards and the like can be had for a song. In some cases, you can get as much as a 75% discount!
If you're inclined to send boutique Christmas cards, some exclusive card sites are willing to sell off reams of unsold stock for pennies on the dollar. Ok, pennies might be a bit of an exaggeration, but you get my point. You can find some bold, unique card designs for less. While you might not be able to have them all engraved or letterpressed, you are one step ahead of next year's madness.
When it's freezing outside, it's time to get a jump on next year's festivities. But, the time to get your holiday cards is not a month out from December 25th. No, you need to get going as soon as possible. You know Christmas is coming -- it's just a given. So, don't bury your head in the sand, get going now.
I understand the last thing some people want to think about in January is Christmas. It's like going into a Christmas store that's open in July. It makes sense, but it's a bit off. Well, they know something you have yet to embrace: the holidays are only eleven months away. Think of it in terms of booking a flight: the farther in advance you buy, the less you pay.
