Two men's races will witness over 100 participants contend for the cup and accumulate points for the sport. The opportunities to practice in winter competitions are a big draw card for serious skiers who have their sights set on the Olympic Games.
However, it is not only an adult sport. Young skiing teens belonging to a team are in training too, looking ahead for the next set of winter games after Vancouver. Contests in the children's sporting events are created for youngsters aged from 11 to 14 years of age. Skiing is a passion for some children who have set their goals to achieve as much as they can in competition and go as far as their skills will take them. It is an exciting sport to be involved in and Meribel is a fantastic place to sharpen their abilities.
After all the invigorating winter activities, a stay at the wellness centre will encourage people to relax, swim in the heated outdoor pool - even while it snows, attend a water aerobics session for good muscle toning, strength and health. Of course, there is a skating rink at hand too. Numerous physiotherapists and other healers are available to be contacted for some healthy pampering while on holiday.
