Most often if people are given the chance to travel abroad over the holidays, they say they would love to go to either oversea or to the Caribbean. However, many people are unable to go to either! Although most of the beaches in the Caribbean are incomparable to those in the United States, you may be able to find many similar alternatives!

For a number of reasons, the Caribbean beaches are very popular. In fact, many people enjoy the fact that they are of crystal clear water, white sand beaches, warm weather, and top of the line resorts. However, with a small amount of looking, you will be able to find beaches with similar features along with being a great deal; here in the United States! In fact, there are many great beaches that are located in the United States, which many people visit!

Located in North Carolina is Ocracoke Island; which is a very popular summer destination for families. It is on the outer banks of North Carolina; therefore, it is only accessible from boat or plane. In fact, it is the home to a many popular beaches. Also, Ocracoke Island is surrounded by the Pamlico Sound as well as the Atlantic Ocean. Many of the activities that are available on Ocracoke Island are boating, camping, fishing, sunbathing, surfing and swimming.

If you are specifically looking for beaches, many people will find themselves automatically located in Florida. In fact, you are more than likely to find a beach for your next vacation to be in Florida! Some of the beaches listed are Daytona Beach, Pensacola Beach, South Beach, and Miami Beach.

Located in Miami, South Beach is ideal for those people that are looking to do activities both on and off the beach. In fact, South Beach offers many beach activities such as boating, sunbathing, surfing, and swimming. Off the beach, it is known for its great nightlife in the many restaurants, clubs, and bars. In fact, many are home to celebrities!

Besides Florida, California is another state that has many popular beaches, as well. One of the most known beaches is Newport Beach; which is one of the most sought after vacation beaches. In fact, Newport Beach is known for all the fun on and offshore activities; which are Frisbee throwing, volleyball, boating, sunbathing and surfing.

Although New York does not have a tropical climate, during the summer their beaches are in full swing. In fact, Main Beach is one of the top rated beaches in the country; which is located in East Hampton, New York. Main beach is known to be just as beautiful as any Caribbean beach; because it too ahs clear water and white sand.

Many of the top rated beaches in the United States are located in Hawaii. In fact, many of the beaches are considered to be just as close to any Caribbean beach as you can get to. In fact, two of the most popular beaches are the Honaunau Bay and Poipu Beach.

If you are planning your next summer vacation you should always remember that you don't have to go to a beach just because it is popular; you should go for the fact that you will have fun!
