A Great Low Budget Visit To Africa Starts With Cheap Flights

Rich people have always loved to go to Africa and enjoy the natural and cultural wonders. Nowadays you don't have to be rich to enjoy Africa. You can find cheap flights to get you there and cheap domestic flights to help you explore this vast landscape. There are plenty of things to do on a budget once you arrive. Depending on where you go you will have a chance to see exotic wild life, beautiful beaches, big cities, small villages and lots of things to shop for.

One of the best reasons to look for cheap plane tickets is so that you will have more money to spend after you arrive. The exchange rate is good for Americans and Europeans so you might suddenly find some wonderful souvenir your can't live without at a bargain price. Or maybe you will find wonderful place to stay that might be a teeny bit extravagant but why not.

African airports like airports everywhere require that passengers go through the security check point. You should find out if any of the airlines you will be flying on have any special restrictions. They're probably pretty much the same as everywhere else.

By now most people know the rules about fire arms, explosives, fire works, toxins and sharp things. The big mistake normal people make is with liquids and gels. Thousands of dollars (pounds, euros, rand etc) worth of shampoo, conditioner, mousse, gel, mascara, shaving cream and so on have been confiscated and disposed of because they were not properly packed. If you are traveling on a budget you don't want to waste money replacing all your cosmetics.

The nearly universal rule is that all liquids and semi liquids, with the exception of some medications and baby formula, must be packed in containers no larger than 100 ml. That's 3.4 oz in American. It's not a big deal. You can buy little plastic containers in drugstores almost anywhere. You can also buy "travel size" containers of a lot of your favorite products.

The challenge is to fit all of the containers into one liter-size zip-lock, clear plastic baggie. In the US the bag has to be quart size. A quart is slightly smaller than a liter. If you can fit all your itty bitty bottles in a quart baggie you should be good to go anywhere.

But, what if you have a giant industrial size bottle of your favorite shampoo that you have to take with you because you know you can't buy it anywhere else in the world. Whatever can you do? The simple solution is to put it in your checked luggage. The draconian restrictions on toiletries only apply to carry-on luggage. How much skin conditioner, toothpaste and hair gel are you going to need while you are on the plane anyway?
