On the west is the National Museum and on the southern part, the Square is bounded by the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao.

* The classical Yue Tan Park covers an extent of about 120 hectares. It is one of the best striking gardens in the capital city of Beijing. It displays various ancient architectures of Beijing China and is continuously well preserved.
