My spouse and I recently started a business and we soon discovered that we had to travel a lot more than we used to. Now don't get me wrong, I love to travel but after a while traveling begins to wear on you and take its toll on you body and your mind. So you have to find ways to make traveling less wearing. Flying first class and renting a nice convertible car when you get to your destinations are great ways to improve the quality of your trips but having a good meal is probably one of the best ways that I improve my time away from home. Think about it; most people have a list of favorite places that they go eat in their own town. So if you're traveling, you want to be able to find those same kinds of great places away from home, whether they are 5 star restaurants or diners.

To help you make the most of your traveling experience, here are four simple tips to aide you in making every trip an adventure you will never forget and long to return to.
Keep a food journal When go to visit a place that you have never been before, you should keep a journal of the places where you have eaten. Write down the name of the restaurants, their addresses, phone numbers and what exactly you had to eat at that restaurant. If you had a great experience at the particular eatery, then make a note; if you didn't then make a note of that too. This is a great way to keep track of the places you've eaten so that when you go back to visit places you've been before, you have a reference so that you can remember where the good places are to eat.
Get a picture with the chef Hardly anyone does this, but it can be a great memento of your trip. The chef at your favorite restaurant is the one responsible for your pleasant dining experience. This is something that will not only give you something interesting to tell people when you get home, but will give the chef something exciting to talk about as well.
Talk to the locals There is nobody who knows where to eat and where not to eat better than a local. Talking to someone from the place where you are visiting could mean the difference between a horrible food experience and a great one.
Order Dessert to Go One of the best things we can do for another person is to give them something expecting nothing in return. When finishing your meal, call the waitress or waiter over and ask them to find out for you what another patron would like for dessert. Tell them to give them whatever they as for off of the dessert menu and to add it to your tab. Make sure that he doesn't tell them that it came from you.
Traveling can be a dream or it can be an excruciating nightmare. You've just learned a few tricks of the trade to make every trip a worthwhile one. Enjoy and Bon Appetit!
