Places to See In The North East: Derwent Reservoir

Derwent Reservoir in Derbyshire shouldn't be confused with the reservoir of the same name in North East England or Derwent Water in Cumbria. It's the middle of three reservoirs in the north east of Derbyshire and helps to provide almost all of the water in that area.

South Yorkshire gets a lot of the water, too, and so does Nottingham and Leicester. While it's very functional, it's also a beautiful place to visit if you just want to see the water and enjoy nature. One of the greatest things to see there is the dam, too, because of the beauty of it and the chance to be near the peacefulness of water. Remains of the old railway that used to run near it can also be seen.

Farmland and woods surround Derwent Reservoir, and it's a big spot for nature lovers. If you like nature, you like to walk, and you want to see some beautiful countryside, Derwent Reservoir is one of the best places that you can go. Derbyshire overall is a beautiful place, and there are many things to do there. When you want to stay close to the Reservoir there are hotels, cottages, and camping areas that you can choose from.

A lot of people like to stay in hotels because they get more luxury that way, but with the economy there are some people who are more interested in what they can get for the money. They might not be able to take a vacation if they have to pay a lot of money for their hotel, and that means that they would miss out on Derwent Reservoir and all of the beauty that surrounds it.

If you want to go and see Derwent Reservoir but you don't have a lot of money, you can always stay in a self catering cottage or even a campsite. Camping out might seem like a hardship, but it's actually not. There are a lot of great campsites out there that have a lot to offer. The same is true with self catering cottages, and some of them are very large and can accommodate a lot of people, so if you've got a large family or just a big group of friends that want to get together in Derbyshire, you might want to consider a self catering cottage. No matter what you decide to do with your accommodations, though, you'll want to see the Derwent Reservoir and all of the great things that Derbyshire has to offer.
