Africa is a very interesting and challenging country. It is relatively untouched; there are still many swaths of virgin forest and plain that are teeming with wildlife.
There are only a few cities in Africa that had direct flights from London. Otherwise you might have to take two or even three planes to reach your destination.
On the other hand, there are also destinations in Africa that are very popular with tourists, especially during the months in which England is full of snow and cold. Going to Tunis, Morocco, or Cairo is almost as easy and cheap as flying to Berlin or Prague. Flights to these cities can be found on airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet, and Thompson.
You should be able to get a pretty good deal on any of these low cost airlines. However, during winter holidays the prices will go up as people have free time and want to escape the cold. The cheapest time to fly to these destinations when the weather is still pleasant is in October or February.
Besides booking your travel in Africa, there are other considerations that you have to keep in mind if you are thinking of traveling anywhere on the continent.
First of all, you need to plan your trip well in advance. You will get a better price on your airline tickets but you will probably also need to secure a visa for whatever country or countries you are planning on traveling to.
You will also need to get the appropriate vaccinations which usually include malaria and yellow fever. You might not be allowed to fly if you don't have the appropriate paperwork. Taking a UK flight to Africa can be a complicated proposition, but once you get there the beauty of the continent will be worth all your trouble.
