With Orlando airport transportation you have your choice on how to get to your flight. You can hire a shuttle to take you there. You can drive your own car and leave it in a parking lot. You will more than likely pay for the convenience of a shuttle ride from your home but you might think it is worth the extra cost.

Airports have lots nearby with shuttles going from the lot to the airport. The shuttle ride is covered by your parking lot fee. The farther the lot from your airport the cheaper the daily fee. The shorter distance, meaning a shorter shuttle ride from lot to airport, means a higher parking rate. But you might think it is worth the extra charge if you do not want a long shuttle ride.

If you are going to stay for an extended period you want to take into account how much you will save taking a shuttle verses paying for parking. If you are parked in the lot nearby you need simply catch the shuttle to the lot and jump in your car and head home.

But if you have had a long flight and you are tired from your flight you might like the idea that you do not have to worry about driving home. You might not mind all the shuttle stops on the way home because you can relax in the van rather than face traffic after a long flight. Most airport parking that is away from the airport is uncovered so you will want to decide if you want to leave your car outside if you are used to having it covered at night.

When entering the parking lot remember to stop and leave your luggage with the attendant near the shuttle pick up area. If the lot is filled you will have to park far from the shuttle stop. You do not want to haul your bags back across the area you just drove over.

Now there is extra security at airports. This means extra time needed to board your flight. Therefore make sure you arrange your shuttle van arrives in plenty of time to make your flight. And be ready to go when the shuttle arrives. They are very good with getting to your door on time and you need to respect the time of others in the van who also have to catch a flight. If you are driving to the parking lot make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to lot, take the shuttle, and get through security.
