Australia's Best Gold Coast Theme Parks

The Queensland Gold Coast is well known for its excellent beaches, golden sands and of course its world famous, and family orientated theme Parks. Gold Coast theme parks are all unique in what they offer and the level of fun and adventure they offer. While there are a number of theme parks on the Gold Coast there are five major ones.

Having been operating for in excess of 25 years Dreamworld is the best known of the Gold Coast theme parks and with over thirteen alternate entertainment worlds it still lays claim to being Australia's best most popular park.
Dreamworld on the Queensland Gold Coast is an exciting complex of 13 different themed entertainment worlds and having operated for in excess of 25years it remains Australia's favourite theme park. Situated in Coomera on the Pacific Motorway, Dreamworld is easy accessible from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. To get to Dreamworld by car from the Brisbane will take around 45 minutes and from the central Gold Coast around 20 minutes. This huge complex offers 30 hectares of themed rides, shows and attractions with wild Tiger Island always popular. See the tigers roam and play their handlers in the safe confines of Dreamworld. For a more serene experience take the Riverboat Cruise, visit Gold Rush Country and the koala and kangaroo sanctuary, maybe try one, or all, of the water slides and enjoy rides like Tower of Terror Wipeout and Thunderbolt. For anyone travelling to the Gold Coast theme parks and wanting to avoid the queues then be sure to book your tickets online.

Warner Brothers Movie World is like stepping into a hollywood set and being dragged into a fictional world of mythical characters and riotous fun. There are alos great rides such as the thrill ride experience 'Batwing Spaceshot' which includes a rapid 4G vertical launch then a sudden fall into a the space below. There is also the Superman Escape rollercoaster which has visitors travelling at 100km per hour in two seconds. Another of the Big five Gold Coast Theme Parks is Sea World with good family fun for all ages. There is plenty of water to be seen here with dolphins, seals, sharks and polar bears just a part of everyday life. There is the popular Shark Bay lagoon where visitors can get close of almost personal to see some of the oceans most feared predatory sharks. There is also the very popular Polar Bear Shores, the 'Waterski Wipeout' show, Cartoon Network Cartoon Beach and all the rides, attractions and favourite characters at Sesame Street Beach. Bert & Ernie's have a regular live stage show with all your favourite characters putting on an energetic singing and dancing show. Sea World Gold Coast theme Park also offers resort style accommodation and is a must visit for all the family. Sea World theme park and resort is located at Seaworld Drive, Main Beach. 3 kms north of Surfers Paradise.

Probably the most popular water theme park in Australia is the Gold Coast's Wet'n'Wild Water World. Be sure to bring your swimmers for this one. Also located on the Pacific Highway, Wet'n'Wild Water World has options for all ages with Whirlpool rides that shoot guests through swirling rapids and the world's first wet roller coaster plunging the brave 30 metres through wild water on a giant surfboard. WhiteWater World is another popular Gold Coast Theme Park and is operated by Dream world. More than just another water park, White Water World is the most advanced water ride park on earth. They offer a number of family friendly attractions through to the more extreme and daring waterslides for the brave. WhiteWater World offers four of the "world's best" water slides plus family fun and entertainment at the Nickelodeon's Pipeline Plunge and the aptly name toddler playground, Wiggle Bay.
