You will have to narrow down your options by first deciding on which part of the city you want to stay in. If you like skyscrapers and the bustle of urban life, the Central Business District might appeal to you. If you like beaches, you have too many to choose from. Or you can stay outside of the heart of the city for some peace and quiet.
If you want to stay in the heart of Sydney, you can't get more central than the Central Business District. The marvelous thing about the CBD is that while you may be surrounded by skyscrapers one minute, you can be in a harborside cafe the next, watching sailboats glisten in the sun.
Close to the CBD, but a little quieter is the popular suburb of Paddington. Your Sydney Accommodation in Paddington may be a unique Bed and Breakfast or it may be a sumptuous hotel right on Oxford Street. Wherever it is, it will be close to Paddington's trendy fashion shops.
Sydney's beaches draw tourists like a magnet and Bondi Beach draws more than any other. This world class wide, white sand beach nestled between two headlands is an incomparable choice for you Sydney accommodation if you are a beach lover.
Let's go north now, across the "coat hanger" as the locals affectionately call the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Sydney's second CBD is right on the other side in North Sydney. From there it's just a short distance to some of Sydney's premier attractions like the Taronga Park Zoo.
Manly Beach is the longest beach in Sydney and attracts as many beachgoers as its southern neighbor, Bondi. It doesn't seem as crowded here, because they are more spread out, but when you go looking for a cafe or restaurant, you'll find as many wonderful places to eat as you will in Bondi. There's a wonderful beach promenade in Manly, as well. Rent a bicycle and ride for hours!
If you want to get away from it all, venture north to Sydney's exclusive far northern beaches. They're exclusive, but you won't feel excluded by the friendly locals who are lucky enough to have a Palm Beach address.
Not everyone goes to Sydney for the beaches. Further west there is no shortage of Sydney accommodation, either. Parramatta is the largest business and shopping area in Western Sydney. It is often overlooked by tourists, but shouldn't be. There's plenty to do and see in Western Sydney and accommodation is cheaper than it generally is in the city.
The Central Coast used to be known as a great place to live out your retirement years. Today it is known as one of Australia's most sought after locations to live. Beaches like Terrigal Beach and Avoca Beach draw visitors in droves. If you have had enough of the fast lane in Sydney, head up to the Central Coast and enjoy its laid-back lifestyle in a close to Sydney accommodation.
Maybe your holiday accommodation decision won't be so hard after all, because you just can't go wrong in Sydney!
