With this background there are a lot of places in Cyprus to sightsee. One of these places is the Baths of the goddess of love Aphrodite. This beautiful is at the edge of the Akamas Peninsula. The cave has a freshwater pool and the surrounding area has place raw and natural beauty.
There are many castles in Cyprus to go and visit too. One of the castles is Saint Hilarion. It is surrounded by limestone rocks from the Besparmark Mountains. It is said to be one of the finest sights in Northern Cyprus.
Near the Larnaca airport is the ancient Hala Sultan Mosque in the beautiful gardens on the edge of Larnaca Salt Lake. Salt has been extracted from this lake in small scales and this is a practice that continues even today. The lake is home to migratory birds like the flamingos in the winters and the spring.
Ayia Napa is a place where you can find a lot of entertainment. Though it was once a fishing village but now has been turned into a centre which is known for water sports and exotic beaches. The nearby resort of Protaras is more of family and fun.
If the woods fascinate you then Cedar Valley in Tilliryan Troodos is a place you must visit. Here some of the rarest species of cedar trees are found as well as the country's national symbol- the sheep. The road to the village is not paved and not very straight therefore not many visit the palace: which in turn guarantees a lot of peace and tranquillity.
The twelfth century Panayia tou Araka - the church of Our Lady of the Pea is found near the village of Lagoudera. It takes its name from the surrounding trees and wild peas. It is blessed with a splendid view down the valleyand even inside, the vibrant colours and the murals are breath-taking.
