Ibiza as a Holiday and Home Destination
Ibiza is known for its vibrant clubbing scene and incredible night life, but as summer draws to an end a different side of the island can be seen. The weather is still warm and the sun is still shining but the beaches are empty and the restaurants are calmer. A large number of Britons are moving to Ibiza to take advantage of the laid back lifestyle and stunning scenery. Unlike many other parts of Spain the housing market is extremely buoyant with prices continuing to rise. In fact it is thought that prices have risen by up to 10% since January 2010, a figure unheard of in other parts of Spain and Europe in fact. With 40% of buyers coming from the UK, it seems that Ibiza remains a hotspot for Britons.

The government has restricted development to an extent in Ibiza but has encouraged the development of boutique hotels in Ibiza and luxury hotels in Ibiza. The end result is a sophisticated and glamourous location. You won't find many high rise hotels crowding the sea front, instead the understated boutique hotel in Ibiza is the order of the day. The quiet elegance coupled with glorious scenery continues to attract not just holiday makers but also expats. There is a large expat scene in Ibiza. With good schools and amazing houses it is of no surprise that many people from the UK are moving there.
There are excellent links with the UK as many budget airlines fly from the UK to Ibiza. Getting home to visit the family is so easy as is of course family coming over to visit. There are plenty of luxury hotels in Ibiza for family members to stay in too. There is no reason why friend and family members can't enjoy a boutique hotel in Ibiza while visiting. Ibiza is an excellent winter sun location. During the summer months the island is lively and busy but come autumn and winter, the crowds have dispersed and the whole island is calm and peaceful.
