When a person loves traveling and visiting beautiful beaches, Skegness - Lincolnshire is an absolute must visit destination. The beach is a stunning and beautiful display of nature that is maintained beautifully by the volunteers and residents of the town. The beach seems to go on forever and is breathtaking when seen against the backdrop of the stunning sunset. One can understand as they stand on this pristine beach why it has been awarded the Blue Flag Beach award for cleanliness so many times.

The volunteers and residents of the beautiful little town take such pride in their town, beach and surrounding area that a person planning a vacation will be taken aback with what Skegness has to offer.
Booking reservations ahead of time at one of the wonderful hotels, B&Bs or self-catering apartments will assure that you are near the town center and activities when you go to Skegness during one of their many events. You may even want to stay at the Butlins Resort which was built in 1936 or one of the other historic hotels that have been completely refurbished and contain all of the 21st century modern amenities you want.
In March there is an Annual State Dance Festival that attracts participants from throughout the world. This is a fabulous event that is great fun for families. August is the week-long annual carnival that includes a week of events and activities for visitors and participants. In April and September there are annual Skegness Rock n Roll Festivals that bring the entire town to life with live music and theatre.
There are a few sights and activities that you must not miss when you visit Skegness. The Tower Gardens, just off Church Road North, is home to many summer events. These gardens were build in 1878 and have been beautifully maintained. The Clock Tower at the end of Lumley Road is another must see as you are on your way to the Tower Esplanade leading to the beach. The tower was build in 1898-99 and you will find the tower and the Beautiful St. Matthews Church wonders in early English architecture.
Family activities abound in Skegness. There is a great herd of donkeys residing at the beach that are available for riding and the Fairy Dell is a great place to spend a few hours at the paddling pool. Along the main strip you will find entertainment for all ages. Arcades, slot machines, rides, crazy golf, and lots of pubs and restaurants.
Whether you are taking a short holiday or a long vacation, you will find there is always something happening at Skegness - Lincolnshire County that will make your holiday fun. Throughout the off season there is music every weekend at the Butlins Resort and there is stock car racing throughout the year at Skegness Stadium.
