Great International Flights In Alicante Airport!

Alicante Airport is an International Airport

From the heart of Alicante province, you can easily get to the Alicante Airport in about nine kilometers travel if you are southwest bound. This airport is the entry point of most tourists who spend their holidays in the beautiful cities of Spain. Travelers come from different parts of the world through international flights served by the airport. Whether they visited to relax, sightsee or get a feel of an ultimate summer season, the airport is the first place that welcomes them upon their arrival.

Imagine over six million avid tourists who flock in the airport before they reach their final destinations in various Spain cities. Spanking new halls and clean floors welcome them as soon as they step out of the plane. While waiting for relatives to fetch them, they can sit by the fancy restaurants and bars. The duty free shop is also at their disposal so they can shop souvenir items for loved ones who await them.

A Little Bit of Alicante Airport History

It was in the year 1967 when the airport was opened for public service. This terminal welcomes visitors who are heading to the Costa Blanca region. Each year, this airport receives huge number travelers that are as big as nine million heads. Recall that flying to Alicante has been a yearly tradition of tourists. Because the region has been a favorite tourist attraction, people from domestic and international travels meet in the common grounds at this airport.

Through word of mouth, people retelling their fond stories about the region gave the airport an even greater number of travelers. The number of people who come to visit keeps on growing year after year. It is a good thing that authorities of the airport considered this growing demand. In fact, a new terminal is being built progressively to assist with the needs of its travelers. People who swarm in the airport can expect a newly built terminal to be finished by the year 2009.

Who are these people who come to visit the Costa Blanca region? The bigger crowds come from different parts of Europe. The British people have long acknowledged Spain as a very fitting place for a grand vacation. Other westerners that are fond visitors of the region are the ones that come from Holland and Germany.

From the airport, there are a lot of transportation means to help you get around the region. Traveling from one point to another is quite easy because there is a vast availability of buses heading to downtown. The airport bus for instance brings you to various destinations in Alicante. It is open to serve you fifteen hours a day and runs for a quick forty-five minute-ride. It can help if you know basic Spanish because most drivers speak their native tongue. If you can't, there is nothing really to worry about because they are very warm and accommodating.

Is Benidorm your final destination? This destination can also be reached via a bus ride but longer than the ordinary rides. Other available routes are destinations such as Denia, Torrevieja and Calpe. If bus rides do not appeal much to you, taxicabs can be a sound alternative. Your options are just as wide as there are cabs waiting for you right at the train stations. Whoever said that traveling in Spain could be a pain in the neck is dead wrong. In this place, traveling is a breeze.
