The Best Spanish Beach Destinations
From Galicia in the north to Marbella in the south and the regions of Valencia, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Balearic, Catalonia, Andalucía and even the Basque Country Spain has an almost embarrassing wealth of beaches. That makes it the perfect place for a beach vacation. Visitors can hob nob up and down both coasts and visit the islands and will have a holidays they will remember for many years.

Attempting to rank Spain's beaches is a real challenge. The list will surely be subjective and debatable but the attempt will be fun. Spain has an incredible amount of good beaches. Put in ascending order for the quality of the beaches list will begin with Mucia, the Canary Islands, Andalucía, Balearic, Valencia and Galicia with Catalonia coming in as the region of Spain with the most great beaches. However spending your holiday on any of Spain's beaches will be a memorable experience. Whether you prize sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea or think an Atlantic Ocean sunset is a better bet for having fun the Spanish coast provides it all.
The Beaches
While the Catalonia region may have more good beaches than anywhere else in Spain, there are great beaches all over the country. The beaches on the Canary Island of Tenerife are terrific. The golden sands, crescent shaped beach, aquamarine waters and palm tree make the spectacular Playa de las Teresitas the best beach in Tenerife.
The beaches on the Costa Blanca in Alicante are some of the most stunning in Spain. Right by the Mediterranean Sea in southeastern Spain, Alicante is an excellent place for a holiday, especially with the option of cheap flights to Alicante available year round. Its mild climate, soft endless sandy beaches and amazing beaches like Mucho Vista and San Juan draw people from all over Europe and the rest of the world to Spain.
Praia das Rodas is one of the best beaches in the world. Located in Galicia, the beach is often referred to as Spain's Caribbean Beach for its calm, clear, turquoise water, white sand beach and rolling dunes backed by a scenic pine forest. The waters may be cool but the experience on Praia das Rodas surely is hot and exciting.
The beaches of Sitges, Catalonia on the coast near Barcelona are considered by many to be Spain's best. There are more than 30 beaches and coves where visitors can experience the sandy beaches, brilliant sunshine and calm waters during the day. At night the beaches of Sitges transform into a rollicking party with its lovely bars, restaurant and clubs throbbing with fun in the Spanish night.
