The Royal Wedding: Book your hotel now to avoid disappointment
The 29th April 2011 should already be on your calendar as you won't have to go into work, but there are many people who are hoping to get down to London in April to join in the Royal Wedding celebrations.

But with so many tourists already visiting London, you will need to get in quick if you want to get a room for that magical day when Prince William will marry Kate Middleton. While many hotels near to Buckingham Palace and Westminster have no rooms available now, there may be some very small basic rooms available if you are lucky.
You will be more successful with hotels in and around the city as anywhere in London is easily accessed by the Tube. You should look for hotels in Victoria, Westminster, Mayfair, Green Park and even around Waterloo station as it is only a short walk over Westminster Bridge to get to Westminster Abbey to join the celebrations. The areas around Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Covent Garden will also be ideal and you would be able to walk to the action. Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street between Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road, as well as Regent Street are also good locations, not just for the Royal Wedding but also for many shops and tourist attractions so can really make a great weekend out of the trip.
The weekend and week leading up to the Royal Wedding is set to be one of the busiest times ever for the capital. The monarchy alone is said to be worth some £500,000 to the travel industry in a normal year - but that figure is expected to rise dramatically during April as monarch-loving tourists from America, the Commonwealth and Europe flood into the capital.
Average hotel bookings are expected to be treble what they usually are at that time of year and so demand for rooms will be higher than ever.
You can choose from chic, boutique hotels to basic and simple hotel reservations or even one of London's many hostels depending on your budget. There are a variety of hotels to suit and your needs, whether you want a bed and a television in your room to an en-suite bathroom and room service. If you are only planning to stay for the night, some will offer a basic bed and breakfast package, while those who want to make a weekend of it can afford to book in for a spa treatment and dinner during their stay at a higher end hotel.
Be warned though, some hotels are charging people an extreme price for a room during the Royal Wedding weekend, with some increasing their prices by 200% for the end of April, so be sure you are still getting a good deal. If the Royal Wedding doesn't interest you, then choose a different weekend or even wait until May before planning your trip to save paying above the odds for a room.
Wherever the Royal couple choose to go for their honeymoon is sure to see a rise in visitors as St Andrews, where they met, and Kenya, where they got engaged, are claiming a bounce in tourism. The Seychelles and Switzerland (where the young couple have taken holidays) are even claiming a rise in tourism as people try to get a taste of Royalty and their lives.
