Meal Ideas To Be Used On Private Jet Charter Flights
It's ironic to see someone lease or buy a private jet, but then notice that their in-flight meals are lacking in extravagance. Private jets don't allow for a lot of space in food preparation devices, so you will have to get creative in what you eat and how you prepare on your next private jet charter.
We call the kitchen area of a jet the galley. Each galley can be expected to be minimal, unless of course you have splurged on a private jet that cost a pretty penny. Expensive models come standard with new steam heating technologies, while less expensive models will have little more than a microwave. Some jets even lack a means of refrigerating foods, which in itself cuts possibilities down greatly.
Meat that has been properly frozen will present a problem for private jet owners. Meat can be thawed out, but cooking it in a microwave will result in a meal far from five stars. Methods can be taken to pre-cook the meat so that you only have to eat it up, but that too requires that you have a means of keeping the meat cold until you will have need for it in your meal.
Preparation doesn't have to be done while in-flight. Instead you can go back to your roots and take an old-fashioned lunch box of your favorite items on board. Items that have to be chilled will be placed in the coolers provided by the jet plane. If none are available, no worries, you can always use a cheap cooler and fill it with ice from any convenience store.
You don't have to be alone in your quest for a better meal while on a private jet charter. Catering companies will do the work for you, albeit at a high price. Whereas you can get by with a simple meal on your own, catering companies will create full meals that are sure to satisfy. When you are traveling with others a catering company would be the better choice. When traveling alone, you might just consider doing without a full course meal.
Losing sight of the real goal of nutrition is easy when focused on what you can or can't create in a meal. Do remember that staying properly hydrated and maintaining nutrition is key to enjoying the vacation or business meeting that is to follow the flight. Request that your caterer include a healthy supply of nutrients, carbohydrates, and allow for a variety of foods of all groups to be included.
In Conclusion
Cooking technologies designed for jet charters is improving all the time. As mentioned there are already ovens that are being used with the power of steam. Keep up to date on the utensils you can make us of in your galley to make your food possibilities more enjoyable.
