If the shell is empty, you will be taught how to clean the shell and prepare it for transport and safe keeping.

The pristine beauty of this island has drawn artists and writers to its' shores for hundreds of years and when you are lying on the beach, watching the dolphins play a short distance away, you will know why it is the well kept secret of Florida. When you want to take explore the island, the scenic drive takes you through a wonderful route that is teeming with stunning bougainvilleas, giant cactus, and tropical flora and fauna.

You can enjoy a fabulous fishing experience or watch the dolphins play in the ocean. Taking a fishing tour, you will be able to fish and see up to fifty types of fish that live near the island. There are over twenty-two miles of bike paths on the islands and you can rent a bike for the duration of your vacation if you like.

Plan on spending at least one day at J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge. There is a wonderful education center that provides a history of the region. There are 6300 acres of refuge that provides bike and walking paths, canoe trails and tram tours.

Wander through the great shops and galleries, they will be easy to find. At the end of Captiva Drive, on Andy Rosse Lane you are going to find some spectacular art galleries, antique shops, pottery shops, and more. There are theatre companies on both islands that will provide delightful entertainment to both adults and children.

Playing golf on one of the great courses, tennis, racquetball, or jogging on the beach will just be a part of your vacation when you stay at Captiva Island Rentals on the beach.
