I Dream Of Antarctica

Of all the sights he has seen visiting all seven continents, this gentleman remembers the sight of the sun rising over the Antarctica plains the most. It was a religious moment for him. A person there has only very few activities to choose from. Getting outside requires several layers of high tech polar clothing and a hardy constitution, as temperatures are routinely 30 degrees below zero. Looking at nature's beauty was something he did even if he worked difficult shifts. He enjoyed looking at the sunsets which lasted hours there at the Royal Society Mountains.

He cannot also forget seeing the names of those who took part in the 1908 Shackleton expedition. Those people whom he met while at McMurdo are memorable, he says. The biographies there are incredible, he said, and everybody's on a first name basis, from the PhDs to the janitors.

He has no fears about the landscape even if it is dangerous. Having gone on a cruise to see penguin breeding grounds, a 47 year old woman also claims to not be afraid of what she saw in Antarctica. She reveals that there she has this strong attraction toward penguins. Whenever I went to the zoo as a child, I would consider them my favorite attraction. To me, they're very much like miniature people. I'd prefer to call them good looking rather than cute.

Recalling her trip to Antarctica, she is reminded of something she had seen that she can never truly forget. Seeing so many King Penguins inhabit the shores of a bay was it. The scene was the most powerful thing that she had ever laid her eyes on. Trips to The Ice aren't meant only for those with academic grants and pilot's licenses.

For those who prefer to make a polar adventure without joining the modern day equivalent of the Foreign Legion, there are several There are cruise lines from New Zealand that bring passengers to Antarctica for only $3,000. Flying to the South Pole is very expensive. It's for anyone who wants to have an adventure and has lots of money to spend.
