Imaginative Christmas Vacation Destinations You Might Not Have Thought Of

If you are looking to go away this Christmas but want to avoid the usual destinations which will be filled with tourists (like Lapland or the Caribbean) then be sure to look through our fantastic list of ideas that will help you find a holiday destination that is out of the ordinary.

1) Bethlehem - It may not necessarily be the ideal holiday destination, but there is no denying that going to Palestine is sure to be an interesting experience. Chances are you have never visited Palestine before, so why not take a trip to the birthplace of Jesus this Christmas and you are sure to have an adventurous time at the very least! You will have a chance to experience a totally different culture and then there is the added bonus that although they may not celebrate Christmas you can feel utterly festive as you will be in the city where it all began!

2) Thailand - if you want to do something a bit different then head to Thailand, December is one of their nicest months so you are almost guaranteed good weather. Plus it will be fantastic when you arrive home all golden brown and everyone else is snivelling with their Christmas cold! So make sure that you have a fantastic Christmas and do something a little bit different, and if you want to forget all about Christmas then Thailand is a Buddhist country so there will be minimal Christmas festivities.

3) Alaska - the perfect place to go if you want some peace and quiet and some snow. Perhaps not the liveliest of holiday destinations, you can be sure that this will certainly be an experience! If you are bored of visiting the same old tourist hot spots like Iceland or Greece then this is sure to be exactly what you are looking for. Something that is a little bit different and makes a great story to tell friends and family.

4) Tasmania - If you are looking for something fun and interesting, then look to Tasmania, an Island that is part of Australia and is filled with a rich culture, fantastic food and some of the best scenic views that you will ever see. It is also home to the Tasmanian devil, so whilst every other child is looking to catch sight of Santa Claus you can see the much popularised Tasmanian devil.

5) Port Maturin - this is a tiny Island that belongs to Mauritius in the middle of the Indian Ocean; with a population of just 6000 you are sure to get a peaceful Christmas. You will have a chance to leave the rat race and the materialistic culture that we have built up in this country and instead get to appreciate the finer things in life, like the weather (it is their peak season during December). So have a holiday you will remember this Christmas.
It may seem like a strange list of holiday destinations, but if you want to have a superb time this Christmas you need to think outside of the box, so whether you head to Bethlehem or Alaska you are sure to have the time of your life.
