On the other hand, the time from Christmas through March is the more expensive time for a vacation, when people flock to Florida from the cold northern states!

When you've got an idea of your holiday dates, it's time to take a trip to a travel agency. Believe it or not, even in this day and age, not all Florida vacation destinations have an online website, especially those in Northwest Florida!
You can combine both offline and online worlds by getting your paper brochures and using them as the basis for your online research.

Now it is time for internet surfing. Check out the sites of the travel agencies that have Florida vacations, for their most up to date prices. There will frequently be "web only" discount pricing on sites.
Once you have located a deal that intrigues you then call the agency and make them a lower offer for the trip package. You'd be quite surprised at how many of the companies are willing to offer a 'ready to buy' customer a better deal, than possibly lose them to a competitor who will. Particularly if it's for the Florida "off season" where bookings are a wee bit on the lean side.

Newspapers and magazines can also be a great way to track down current Florida vacation deals. When a newspaper covers an article on a holiday location, they frequently have more than a few travel agencies advertising discounts and deals around the article.
But here's a hint you might not realize; when you see those ads (usually for the highest priced seasons of the year), check if booking a trip several weeks earlier or later makes a difference.
For example, if there was an article about Walt Disney World in the summertime, bear this in mind -- the difference in resort prices between the middle of August against the end of August can be many hundreds of dollars. You could save a lot of cash by changing your holiday dates back a few weeks!
