In addition, most of Florida offers moderate temperatures for most of the winter but the Florida panhandle and Texas are best visited between late spring and early fall for beach activities. During the summer, the coastal breezes keep the temperatures from becoming too hot to enjoy your visit.
Persons that feel a vacation must include some time for golf will not be disappointed with all the many very fine golf courses that are found in locations all along the gulf. Since this is a favorite place for many winter snowbirds, there are plenty of courses and the weather is always perfect to enjoy playing your favorite sport. There is just enough rain and humidity to keep those greens looking lush and great for the majority of the year. Since these vacations do not involve flights for most persons, there is not even any concern about having to check your clubs at the airport with newer baggage limits that have been imposed due to security concerns..
You will find many developments as well as charter services in most cities, towns or villages along the coast. Many very nice fish are caught every year in the gulf. If your vacation is for fishing purposes, the summer makes the best time to make a trip.
The beaches of the Gulf make great places to enjoy sand, surf and swimming. In addition, there are many beaches that are great for beachcombing around the gulf.
If your vacation plans include Mexico, remember that now you must have either a passport or a passport card to cross the border. Since this is a relatively new rule, do not let you plans be spoiled by depending on former rules that allowed travelers to use a driver's license as a form of identification.
