Seymour Accommodation Tips For Tourists

You see more in Seymour. That is a well known phrase used for one of the quaintest country towns in northern Victoria. It is a quiet spot located near Daylesford and the Macedon Ranges and alongside the Goulburn River.

Many people like to visit Seymour because of its historic features, which are plentiful. Despite being a quiet town nowdays, it was originally situated on the main road that joined Melbourne and Sydney, Australia's two major cities. So during the gold rush days in the 1800s, it was an incredibly busy location. Perhaps the most historic building in Seymour is the Royal Hotel, built in the 1840s and still standing today. Many a beer has been guzzled inside this venue, and the pub was even the subject of Russell Drysdale's famous painting, "Moodys Pub".

The vast countryside is a gorgeous scenic backdrop with several wine growing and agricultural areas close by. Seymour is very much a farming town and each year holds the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo, a three day event where innovations in agricultural technology are presented by some of the best rural inventors from around the world.

There is also an annual food and wine festival where the finest local restaurant owners and wineries showcase their authentic products, attracting people from afar. With the influx of people for these events, there is a need to organise suitable accommodation to ensure your stay is a fully enjoyable one.

The town of Seymour has a great selection of motels, bed and breakfasts, holiday houses and self contained cottages. But you need to book early to secure appropriate Seymour accommodation especially in their busy times of year. If you're after location, The Coach and Bushmens is the place to stay. Situated in the middle of Seymour, the popular motel is not only furnished with lovely items, it has a swimming pool and a jogging
track.

Clyde Cottage is located just out of Seymour but is an amazing place that is both private and homely. It is a heritage area and was built 100 years ago and the owners will even cook gourmet pizzas from their woodfire oven as your dinner. The accommodation also comes with a pool and is located right on the Goulburn River, perfect for fishing or relaxing.

If you're just passing through Seymour, it's important to keep some tips in mind to make sure your accommodation is taken care of. Make sure you've got somewhere to stay before you arrive. If you are driving from Sydney to Melbourne and stop in Seymour, you will have been on the road for about 6 hours. Being tired, the last thing you want to do is drive around and find somewhere to stay. So plan in advance and make booking arrangements with a suitable place.

Research the available venues and see what facilities they offer and if the price is within your budget. If you're going to be doing tourist stuff, a good location is also important. And if you're staying in Seymour, you definitely should be taking a look around this lovely little town!
