What Albufeira Restaurants Have To Offer.
As you can imagine Albufeira has a large number of restaurants catering to all tastes, you will find that Portuguese food is varied and delicious and has regional variations, inland has more meat based dishes, while coastal resorts specialize in seafood dishes, although most restaurants will have a very varied menu. To eat out ranges from the lower end fast food joints, to the high class renowned restaurants. Remember the touristier the area, the more you will pay. But most restaurants in town are medium priced, serve good quality food, and with the varied menu, there will be something for everyone.

As well as the usual waited table restaurants there is also a selection of self service restaurants, all the food is ready for your plate, help yourself to the vast selection of meats, pasta, pizza, rice, vegetables, fresh salad and fruits, load up your plate and you pay by the weight, you can also put your food in foil containers for take out.
The select few top market restaurants usually have a beachside location, the fresh seafood is amazing, from the traditional seafood cataplanas, to beautiful lobster dishes, all prepared by high quality chefs, but understand you will pay more than the average restaurants.
If you take a walk outside the main tourist areas, the chances are you will find a lovely more traditional Portuguese restaurant; these places are where the locals tend to eat out. The food is fresh and plentiful, and the prices reasonable, try the Algarve specialty chicken piri piri, or the lovely Portuguese steak. Don't be afraid to ask the staff for daily recommendations, and wash your meal down with a few glasses of excellent regional wines; try one of the restaurants 'sweet of the day', with a nice port.
Just on about every street you will find a local coffee and cake caf, the Portuguese are very sweet toothed and always frequent these for an espresso and a cake. They have a nice selection of pastries, teas, coffees, as well as beers, spirits and wines, nice to visit to take the weight of your legs for a while.
Whatever your budget and taste in food, there is something in Albufeira restaurants to suite all taste buds, with great service and friendly staff it all adds up to a great mealtime.
