When people come to Brixham they often do it for the sports and leisure activities that they can get involved with. However, if you're not really that interested in doing those kinds of things it might be better for you to focus on the beaches.
The beach areas that you can enjoy at Brixham give you all kinds of options and choices, since they offer everything from beautiful sand to rugged coastline. Not everyone thinks of the beach in the same way. Some people see it only as a sandy place to play, and others see it as anywhere that the water meets the land. However you feel about the beach, there are plenty of places in Brixham where land and water meet and you can enjoy them all for a lot of different reasons. If you like to just walk along the coastline, you can enjoy that. If you'd prefer to swim, canoe, or water ski, you can do that, as well.
There are many different options just as there are many different beaches, and that means you'll get the chance to do what you like to do. If they like to do different activities from you, there won't be any problem with all of you enjoying what Brixham has to offer. 
 
In 22 miles you'll find 20 actual beaches, and you'll also find that most of them are secluded, they're great for families, and they've won awards for their cleanliness. That tells you that you'll be able to enjoy a great family vacation and that you can plan to have a great time at Brixham and enjoy the beach. Make sure that you plan ahead, though, because the most common travel times are also the busiest, the nicest, and the most expensive.
If you're coming to the beach you want great weather, but in the tourist season your accommodations will be a little bit more expensive. You might want to consider getting a self catering cottage instead of a hotel room so that you can pay a little bit less and have more time to spend a worry-free holiday at the beach. You can also come in the off season to save some cash. The beaches won't be as nice for swimming but you'll still be able to walk on them and enjoy the rugged beauty of the coastline.
