Historic buildings in Cheshire are in abundance with thousands of cottages, farmsteads and houses which were erected in the eighteen hundreds AD and many are predated to the Georgian style. Cheshire is situated on the northern boundaries next to Whales and Cheshire has a reputation for its wonderful countryside and gardens displaying castles as well as Roman villages. 
 
To mention only a few of the many historic buildings that are noted in Cheshire is Adlington Hall which is owned by the Legh family and has been around since the thirteenth century in the forests of Macclesfield which was previously a hunting lodge in 1040. The staggering architecture is a combination of 16th century timber framing and 17th century brickwork which was originally moated and in the early nineteen hundreds the Legh family altered the original design 
 
In 1832 Arley Hall was built by Rowland Egerton Warburton which is the great-great grandfather to the present owner Viscount Ashbrook and the Viscountess. Arley Hall is enveloped in the most magnificent scenic gardens. 
 
Another magnificent historic building which is filled with the past displaying magnificent marbled sculptures and rich furnishings owned by the Bromley Davenport family dating to the Norman Conquest era is Capesthorne Hall with it picturesque pinnacles and towers offset by the red face brick walls and staggering gardens and surrounding lakes. 
 
An original beautiful Tudor house which is surrounded by what was a deer park is Dunham Massey and it owned by the 9th Earl of Stamford Dunham Massey which can be found south west of Altrincham. A beautiful stately Elizabethan home which is well known for retaining a collection of 17th century hand crafted clocks is Lyme Park. 
 
There are a few other architectural masterpieces that are listed as historic buildings in Cheshire such as the Tabley house and Rode Hall as well as Peover Hall and Peckforton Castle and so many more breathtaking historical sites which would gladden any historians heart as well as those that appreciated grandeur and history which Cheshire if filled with.
